Explore the connections between tarot and astrology
What might you notice in a tarot card when you bring astrology into the reading?
Join Lisa Stockley for an introduction to the relationship between these two symbolic systems. Beginning with some historical background and a little philosophy, we’ll explore how astrological meanings can add to our understanding of the cards.
Across ten weeks, we’ll consider each of the 78 cards individually, working through the Major Arcana, the numbered cards of the Minor Arcana and the Court cards. Along the way, we’ll explore ways of connecting and grouping them, building a sense of how the deck works as a whole.

The background to tarot: historical context and philosophical ideas to help frame your studies.
All 78 cards: time to consider the Major Arcana, numbered cards and Court cards in their own right.
Astrological connections: how astrological symbolism can contribute to tarot interpretation.
Patterns within the deck: different ways of grouping cards and exploring their relationships.
Tarot spreads: layouts that draw on astrology, alongside ways to incorporate astrological meanings into other readings.
Put your learning into practice
These are interactive classes, with opportunities to discuss the cards, reflect on your own experiences and practise reading for one another.
As you work through the deck, you’ll have space to explore different interpretations and learn from the perspectives of others. The emphasis is on practice, curiosity and openness as you develop your understanding.
Who is the course for?
No previous tarot knowledge is assumed. Familiarity with the astrological planets and zodiac signs is helpful.
If you already study astrology and are curious about tarot, this course offers a way to explore the cards through symbolism you recognise. If you already read tarot, it offers an opportunity to consider what an astrological perspective could bring to your practice.

Course fee: £400
A one-off registration fee of £35 applies if you are joining the Faculty as a new student, bringing the total to £435.

Lisa Stockley DFAstrolS
Lisa is the Faculty’s Director of Studies and gained her Faculty Diploma in 2018. She teaches online and by distance learning, alongside running an astrological practice in north London.
Her particular interest is astrology as a spiritual practice, and she works extensively with the symbolism of both astrology and tarot.
Reserve your place
Places are limited so that everyone has time to ask questions, take part in discussions and practise reading with others. This interactive approach is an important part of the course.
This is a rare opportunity to study tarot and astrology together with Lisa Stockley, and it may be a one-off offering. If you would like to join us, we recommend enrolling early to secure your place.
