This ten week course introduces the tarot from an astrological perspective. Beginning with some historical background and even a little philosophy, we’ll explore the links between these powerful symbolic systems. In the course of the full ten weeks, we’ll consider each of the 78 cards in its own right, working our way through the Major arcana, the Minor arcana or number cards and the people cards of the tarot Court. We’ll reflect on ways of connecting and grouping the cards and what the astrological symbolism can add to tarot interpretations. Tarot spreads which draw on astrological symbolism will be included as well as ways to incorporate astrological meanings into any tarot reading. The course will be fully interactive, with opportunities to reflect on our own experiences of the cards and to read for each other, all in a spirit of practice and openness.
No previous tarot knowledge is assumed; a familiarity with the astrological planets and signs of the zodiac is helpful.
