Whether we are wrapping up loose ends or wrapping up gifts, many of us approach the Winter Solstice in a bit of a frenzy. Yet as the Sun reaches the southernmost point in its annual journey – the southernmost declination – we are invited to pause, to reflect, to be still. Soon enough, a new journey will begin.
The Moon also has her own rhythm, her own undulations – yes, through the monthly phases but also through cycles of declination. Every month, she reaches a northernmost point in the sky and every month a southernmost point as well. Could we incorporate this into our astrology? Furthermore, these turning points of declination aren’t always at the same degree, and in early 2025, we’ll experience one of the rare limits in what is called a Major Lunar Standstill. What might this mean in astrology?
Toby feels like he got a new toy for Christmas. He would love you to join him while he figures out how to put it together!

Solar Arc Directions and the development of self-awareness
Forecasting Seminar II
with Alejo López
Saturday 23rd November
3.00-4.30pm GMT
The Sun, the astrological symbol of our core self, illuminates our path to self-awareness. Solar Arc Directions are a forecasting technique that follows the path of the Sun in a symbolic way to reveal key turning points and growth opportunities. This skill can be applied as soon as you learn it as the calculations for it are easy. In this webinar, we will explore the Sun’s role in our natal charts, the symbolic language of Solar Arc Directions and how to interpret their messages. We will use case examples to be able to see how this works both in theory and practice. This workshop can provide you with a practical and insightful tool for navigating life’s journey.

Many Happy Returns! Using Solar and Lunar Returns in Forecasting Work
Forecasting Seminar III
with Mark Fountain
Saturday 30th November
3.00-4:30pm GMT
Solar Returns are one of the most popular and frequently used forecasting tools. It’s no surprise that both professional astrologers and astrology students are so keen to set up this chart just before their birthday as it can show so clearly the essential character of the year ahead.
Their importance lies in the fact that they reveal how Solar principles are expressed in any 12-month period, giving invaluable information on what the individual’s ‘mission’ might be. We can see from the chart how the person can best express their creative power and pursue their purposes and objectives in the course of the year.
However, we can sometimes get over-excited about our Solar Return if we’re not careful; and as with all forecasting techniques, we must keep in mind that they show potential rather than a series of fated events. It’s important to keep them in their place when producing an astrological forecast and to use them alongside other techniques. So, how should they be interpreted and used when preparing a forecast? And what about the relationship between the Solar Return and the birth chart? How can they be compared in order to provide further insights?
And what about the Lunar Return, a technique used rather less frequently but based on a similar principle? These can provide fascinating information on an individual’s emotional self-expression in a particular month and on the unfolding of lunar principles over that period.
By examining some examples, the webinar aims to shed light on both of these charts and to give some practical tips on how they can be used to produce an astrological forecast.

Saturday 25th January
3.00-4.30pm GMT
In our practice as astrologers we are in a relationship and dialogue with both the cosmos and the client. This first session in this series focusses on the astrologer-client relationship and how to support and manage this to enable an effective consultation to unfold. We will review the importance of good communication skills and consider some of the unconscious dynamics which can arise including projection and the roles which can be placed on the astrologer. We will look at the use of synastry in the consultation, and lastly we will consider the importance of having a self-reflection process to support our practice.

Astrology as Storytelling: How Narrative Techniques Can Help Us Engage with Our Own Charts
Summer School Highlights
with Alejo López
Saturday 1st February
3.00-4.30pm GMT
We are made up of stories: stories of our past, our nation, and our future; stories that tell us who we are, who our family is and what our life should be. Some of these stories contradict each other and many are unknown to us. Narrative techniques can help us to find indirect ways of understanding who we are and what possible paths we can take in the future. They allow a symbolic approach to ourselves and our present moment. Combined with the powerful symbols of astrology, it can be a valuable tool for navigating our lives.

Soulful Venus with Brian Clark
Heaven, Earth & Horoscope
Venus, heaven’s bright light, invites us into her world of mystery and beauty. Her mortal presence, however, disrupts our sense of self and security, initiating us into the painful, yet profound experience of Love, both divine and worldly. Psychologically, Venus characterises self-love, not a narcissistic love, but one that values the love of one’s own solitude, self-respect and otherness. Archetypally, the symmetry of her cycle, her engaging cross-cultural myths, her loves and liaisons, and her astrological images allow us to appreciate the beauty and the shadow of this powerful planetary archetype. As we progress through our classes, heavenly Venus increases in radiance each night, visible as the evening star.
Heaven (1st Venus seminar)
with Brian Clark
Saturday 1st February
9.30-11.00am GMT
Being the brightest star of our skies, Venus’s enthralling appearance was imported into astrology as a benefic. By nature she is dualistic. As evening star she is Venus Hesperus, visible in the West, while as Phosphorus she is the morning star rising before the Sun. Mythically and astronomically, Venus descends into the underworld and rises again. In this class we will trace her relationship with the Sun, her phases and patterns. The symmetry of her cycle, her disappearances and returns, her retrograde periods, and the star mandala she traces in the heavens are all illustrative of the power and the presence of Venusian energy.
Earth (2nd Venus Seminar)
with Brian Clark
Saturday 8th February
9.30-11.00am GMT
Venus enters our astrological pantheon having many incarnations. Her origins are Near Eastern, in the land between the Tigris and Euphrates. As Queen of Heaven, she is the great goddess of erotic love, fertility and war, known as Inanna, Ishtar, Mylitta. To the Phoenicians she was Astarte; to the Greeks, Aphrodite and to the Romans, Venus, the embodiment of imperial power. Her many personifications, icons and images, reverence and worship, as well as her mythic stories, allow us to consider how she incarnates in our lives. We will amplify the desires and patterns she psychically weaves into the tapestry of our emotional and energetic selves.
Horoscope (3rd Venus Seminar)
with Brian Clark
Saturday 15th February
9.30-11.00am GMT
In our final class, focusing on our own horoscopes, we will explore and discuss the spirit, cycle, patterns, presence and times of Venus in our lived experience. Using astrological signatures, progressions and transits, we will endeavour to evoke a deeper and more soulful participation with this potent, mysterious and transformative planetary archetype.

Working with Clients II · The consultation chart and the astrology of the moment
with Cat Cox
Saturday 8th February
3.00-4.30pm GMT
This second session of this series explores our relationship with the cosmos, both in our preparation for the consultation and in noticing what is arising in and around the session itself. Paying attention to this can be a signpost to what may be important for the client at this time and what may be useful to explore in the session. We will look at the use of the consultation chart as well as considering how forecasting more generally can identify what is of importance for the client at this moment. We will also reflect on the role of synchronicities arising around the session as an indicator of what is significant or meaningful at this time.

Understanding Saturn Transits and Maximizing their Potential
Transits Seminar I
with Mark Fountain
Saturday 15th February
3.00-4.30pm GMT
Saturn transits are often misunderstood and seem to have a bad reputation that is quite unjustified.
Their crucial role in helping us to define who we are and enabling us to acquire the practical skills, resilience and focus to achieve our goals, is often overlooked, perhaps reflecting a natural human tendency to avoid sustained hard work if at all possible, and to try to get what we want quickly and easily! Saturn is also a powerful symbol of our relationship with the inexorable and relentless passage of time and our willingness, at all periods of our lives (even when we’re very young!), to embrace the ageing and maturation process rather than run away from it.
This webinar focuses on the higher purpose of the transits of Saturn, aiming to go beyond the usual misleadingly negative interpretations based on ideas such as restriction, frustration and melancholy. We will look at some examples of how Saturn can assist us in developing a sense of responsibility in all areas of our lives, and how – at best – it can even symbolize the slow process of acquiring a little wisdom!
The webinar will include some examples of Saturn transits in the lives of notable individuals that illustrate the frequently surprising ways in which they can manifest in our lives, bringing significant changes rather than limitation. The focus will be on discussing how to maximize the potential of every Saturn transit and to work with Saturn rather than against it!

The Transits of Uranus
Transits Seminar II
with Lisa Stockley
Saturday 22nd February
3.00-4.30pm GMT
Like the cracks that let the light in, the transits of Uranus can break us open. We may be jolted awake, especially if we didn’t even realise that we had fallen asleep. This seminar considers the symbolism and mythology of Uranus and the forms that our awakening and opening up may take. We’ll use example charts to consider how Uranus asks us to respond to change and to navigate disruption when the ideal clashes with the reality. We’ll also consider the potential Uranus brings for clarity, insight and authenticity.

Transits of Neptune
Transits Seminar III
with Toby Aldren
Saturday 1st March
3.00-4.30pm GMT
Deception. Confusion. Loss. Addiction. Are we all too ready with words that could frighten or discourage someone undergoing a Neptune transit? Instead, can we invite the person to be open to the imagination, the wonder, and the magic that is Neptune? Or does that encourage a state of Pollyanna? In this seminar, Toby will explore Neptune moving through the twelve houses of the chart, and he will help you interpret transiting Neptune aspecting natal planets and points. Let’s rethink – or perhaps ‘re-feel’ – how we approach Neptune transits. Can we welcome Neptune’s cleansing? Can we open ourselves to enchantment? Let’s find a way to grasp the meaning of this elusive energy.

Transits of Pluto: the Impossible Cartography of the Underworld
Transits Seminar IV
with Alejo López
Saturday 8th March
3.00-4.30pm GMT
This is a webinar for anyone who has ever feared darkness. The quest for meaning in life often elevates us towards the illuminated sky. We draw on images of heroes and saints that inspire us to strive to be better than we are. Yet, there is another aspect of spirituality that emerges from below, from the mud and the dirt. Images of Pluto are associated with descent and darkness. The lord of the underworld can lead us on a journey that can sometimes feel like having our boundaries of self-protection being violated. However, Pluto, in Greek mythology, means “the rich one.” In this journey, he offers us treasures that are unimaginable to the world of the living. This webinar will be approached in a multi-layered fassion. We will study Pluto’s astronomy, mythology, astrological signification and we will add some further interpretations from Jungian psychology. This will be a rich webinar in the hope that we can explore many different approaches to transiting Pluto. We will also examine chart examples. And hopefully, we will find life in the mud.

Working with clients III – Challenges in the Consultation
with Cat Cox
Saturday 15th March
3.00-4.30pm GMT
In this third session of this series on working with clients we will be looking at how to handle some of the more challenging issues which may arise in a consultation from time to time. Examples include sceptical clients, clients wanting to be told what will happen, or wanting you to make a decision for them, or leaving it until the last minute to open up an important topic in the session. Working within an ethical framework and having a good awareness of boundaries addresses many of these issues and we will be exploring both.

The MC/IC Axis and the 10th/4th Houses: Manifesting our inner essence
Natal Chart Skills Seminar I
with Itziar Azkona
Saturday 29th March
3.00-4.30pm GMT
Each angle into which the natal chart is divided points to different directions in our life. In particular the Mc and Ic axis is intimately related to and influenced by the heritage of parents and ancestors as the essence of our connection to the earth. At the same time it is our most intimate connection to the cosmos through our longings and aspirations. April
The Chart Ruler
Natal Chart Skills Seminar II
with Toby Aldren
Saturday 5th April
3.00-4.30pm BST
The Chart Ruler, sometimes called the Ruler of the Ascendant or the Ruler of the Horoscope, is a planet that takes on the extra duty of extending the meaning of the Ascendant itself. It gives us more information about how and where the topics of the Ascendant are played out, such as how the person approaches new beginnings, the lens through which the person view the world, first impressions, etc. When we interpret the Chart Ruler, we can’t forget the planet’s usual functions, but we specifically need to consider its additional role as a type of ambassador for the Ascendant. We need to interpret the Chart Ruler’s sign and house placement, and we’ll even consider the aspects made to other planets – feeding this information back to the meaning of the Ascendant. Join Toby for a look at this very significant planet in any chart.

Aspects and Aspect Patterns: when to include minor aspects
Natal Chart Skills Seminar III
with Alejo López
Saturday 12th April
3.00-4.30pm BST
While major aspects like conjunctions, oppositions, and squares are the most common language for chart interpretations. But minor aspects can reveal subtle layers of meaning that significantly influence our lives. In this webinar, we will study how to link minor and major aspects by interpreting some of the patterns they build together: the Yod, the Finger of the World, the Hard Rectangle, and the Mystic Rectangle. My aim is to provide a clear framework for working minor aspects and understand how and when to add them to your readings. You will learn how to come up with consistent, insightful interpretations that enrich your work as astrologer. We will study the theory and then apply it to practice by using case studies and chart examples.

May
The Sun-Moon Relationship in the chart
Luminaries Seminar I
with Alejo López
Saturday 10th May
3.00-4.30pm BST
Even today, with so much light pollution, two lights rule the heavens: the Moon and the Sun. The Moon can be thought of as our inner world, representing our emotions and sense of security, while the Sun may be seen as our outward energy, symbolising our goals and ambitions. These two luminaries, as astrologers often call them, sometimes work in harmony but sometimes seem to be at war. The combination of their sign and house placement can offer us valuable insights into our unique character. If we understand their relationship, we can foster an inner marriage in which our inner, unconscious world (Moon) and our outer worldly identity (Sun) establish a fluent dialogue with each other. In the past, it was called an alchemical marriage, to which one could arrive after years of self-awareness. Once achieved, a deep sense of wholeness should emerge. In this webinar, we will explore the astronomical properties of the Sun and the Moon and the symbolic interpretations of those. Then by using astrology and some concepts from depth psychology, we will study the astrological relationship between them, uncover different ways to understand their connection (even if they are not in aspect) and learn how to encourage this alchemical inner marriage to blossom from within.

Integrating The Moon’s Nodes In Natal Chart Interpretation
Luminaries Seminar II
with Eric Fischmann
Saturday 17th May
3.00-4.30pm BST
In their tool kit astrologers have all sorts of things that light their candle. Arguably the Moon’s nodes are one of them. The north node and the south node are two symbolical points that stand at the intersection of the Moon’s orbit and the ecliptic that highlights the Sun’s journey. As a result, the meaning of these nodes is derived from the Moon and the Sun, taking on their universal signification, and respectively pointing in the direction of attachment that fosters belonging and a sense of security on the one hand, and on the other the awareness of our journey towards development and becoming who we are. In addition, the Moon’s Nodes derive meaning from being an axis with the south node opposing the north node. Symbolically oppositions speak of relationships, the ones that enable us to relate to someone else, as much as the ones that help us interact with the world at large. In this foundation level webinar, we will learn how to fully integrate the intrinsic qualities of the Moon’s nodes in chart interpretation and see how their symbolism dynamically interacts with the rest of the natal chart. With a view to understanding how critical these nodes are to reading a natal chart, our study will lead us to cover all sign and house oppositions these nodes find themselves in, otherwise shedding light on a fitting topic that probes our skills at differentiating signs and houses.

The Progressed Sun and Moon
Luminaries Seminar III
with Lisa Stockley
Saturday 24th May
3.00-4.30pm BST
The progressed Sun and progressed Moon are subtle markers for the unfolding of our inner journey. The progressed Moon tracks the evolution of our emotional self, the ebb and flow of our feelings and how we express them, whilst the progressed Sun illuminates the growing and changing sense of self. In relationship, the progressed lunation cycle speaks to the ebb and flow of our growth, the flowering of the potential held within the natal luminaries. This seminar explores these unfolding cycles of subjective time, including example charts to investigate the ways these internal dynamics play out.

The Sun/Moon Midpoint: A Point of High Sensitivity and Creativity
Luminaries Seminar IV
with Mónica Teixeira
Saturday 31st May
3.00.4.30pm BST
The midpoint between the Sun and Moon holds immense creative potential and is highly sensitive to matters related to relationships and personal fulfilment. Whether it is active or dormant in the chart, it is periodically activated through transits, progressions, and other forecasting techniques, and in both cases, it can provide valuable insights into central themes in a person’s life. It is particularly useful when exploring the kind of work, tasks, and relationships that can bring a sense of wholeness and realisation. The power of this midpoint lies in its ability to combine the chart’s most vital elements and channel that creative force in various ways through the planets, angles, or nodes which are activating this midpoint.
Understanding this midpoint can significantly enhance an astrologer’s work. We will explore the deep significance of this midpoint, presenting captivating cases designed to inspire you to integrate this crucial element into your practice. Prepare to be surprised!
