Our Diploma Programme is a structured and comprehensive journey designed for students who are serious about developing a professional-level understanding of astrology. To earn the DFAstrolS, students must complete:

How the Diploma Programme works
The Faculty’s Diploma in Astrology is a structured pathway, guiding students from foundational knowledge to professional expertise. It is divided into two levels, each building on the last.
Step 1: The Foundation Course & Certificate Exam
Before progressing to the Diploma, students must complete the Foundation Course (Modules 1, 2, and 3), which provides a strong grounding in natal chart interpretation.

Diploma Level 1: Interpretation & Forecasting
At this stage, students expand their skills beyond static chart analysis, learning how to work with predictive techniques and deepening their interpretative abilities. Key forecasting tools, such as transits, secondary progressions, solar arc directions, and solar returns, are introduced. Ethical considerations and astrology’s connection to philosophy, psychology, and esoteric traditions are also explored.

Diploma Level 2: Advanced Techniques & Professional Practice
This final stage of the Diploma programme prepares students for professional-level astrology, focusing on relationship astrology, mundane astrology, and consultancy skills. Students explore synastry, composite charts, astrocartography, local space techniques, and ancestral astrology, while also developing practical consultation skills through live client readings.

Diploma Level 1: Building a Foundation in Interpretation and Forecasting
The aim of Diploma Level 1 is to extend and deepen students’ skills in natal chart interpretation, encouraging an imaginative and sensitive approach to astrology. Through Level 1 modules, students learn forecasting techniques, including transits, solar returns, secondary progressions, and solar arc directions. This level also introduces students to the ethical principles of good practice and encourages an exploration of astrology’s relationship to fields such as philosophy, psychology, literature, religion, science, and the mystery traditions. Diploma Level 1 provides a comprehensive grounding in interpretation and forecasting, building a solid foundation for future professional development in astrology.

Module 4: Time I – Transits and Solar Returns
Overview of planetary cycles and the fundamentals of forecasting through transits and solar returns, as well as a look at astrology’s place within broader thought systems.Module 5: Time II – Progressions and Directions
Introduction to symbolic timing techniques, such as secondary progressions and solar arc directions, with practical examples.Module 6: Intermediate Interpretation
Practical training in combining interpretation and forecasting techniques. This module also introduces consultancy skills and prepares students for live chart readings.
Intermediate Practice Module (Optional)
An optional half-module for students seeking additional practice before taking the Intermediate Interpretation Exam.
Diploma Level 2: Expanding into Relationships and Consultancy
Diploma Level 2 broadens students’ astrological understanding, focusing on the dynamics of relationships, the individual’s connection to the collective, and the development of professional consultation skills. At this level, students explore interpersonal relationships through techniques such as synastry and composite charts, as well as the deeper psychological and ancestral dimensions of family astrology. They also learn to apply astrology to the wider world, including astrocartography, local space astrology, and mundane astrology, enabling them to place individual charts within a broader social, historical, and geographical context.
The culmination of Level 2 prepares students for professional practice by developing consultancy skills, ethical awareness, and advanced interpretation techniques. Through practical experience and live chart readings, students gain the skills to offer insightful, responsible, and professional astrological consultations. Completing Diploma Level 2 is a significant milestone, equipping students with the advanced knowledge and expertise needed to confidently begin their journey as professional astrologers.

Module 8: The Astrology of World and Place

Training in consultation skills and ethical considerations, with a focus on preparing students for live chart readings. Includes recordings of client readings as part of the learning materials.
Advanced Practice Module (Optional)

DFAstrolS stands for “Diploma from the Faculty of Astrological Studies.” Earning this title signifies a high level of proficiency and understanding in astrology, recognised internationally by professionals in the field. Graduates who achieve this designation can use it after their name, establishing themselves as credentialed astrologers with advanced expertise.
The Diploma programme is divided into two levels. Diploma Level 1 covers foundational astrology skills, including chart interpretation, forecasting techniques, and natal chart work. In Diploma Level 2, students delve into relationship astrology, the individual’s connection to the world, and astrological consultancy skills. Each module is designed to build a comprehensive skill set for professional practice.
No prior knowledge of astrology is required to being the Diploma programme. The Facutly of Astrological Studies offers a structured curriculum starting with foundational concepts in Module 1, designed specifically for beginners. This ensures that students can build their knowledge step by step, regardless of their starting point.
Module fees vary depending on the content and options chosen. For Modules 4 to 6, each module costs £415. Each pathway of Module 7 costs £415, or £525 for both pathways together (available via Distance Learning). Modules 8 and 9 are also £415 each, and the optional Advanced Practice Module is £235. Additionally, there is a one-time Student Registration Fee of £35. These fees reflect the in-depth materials, tutor support, and high-quality education provided through the Faculty.
Exams are optional, but they are required if you wish to achieve the full Faculty Diploma and the DFAstrolS designation. The programme is designed to offer a structured and comprehensive education regardless of whether you choose to take exams. Passing exams allows you to accumulate credits toward the Faculty Diploma, and completing all modules and exams qualifies you to take the final Advanced Interpretation Exam
To be eligible for the final Advanced Interpretation Exam, you need to complete all nine modules and pass the Certificate and Intermediate Exams, earning a total of 300 credits. Modules 7, 8, and 9 each award 20 credits, while the Advanced Interpretation Exam awards 60 credits. This structured approach ensures that you acquire a thorough and well-rounded astrological education.
Yes, the Faculty offers flexible learning options. Most modules are available through Distance Learning, allowing students worldwide to access our renowned education. Modules are designed to be completed over specific time frames, with full support from our experienced tutors. Module 7 even offers the option to complete both pathways together via Distance Learning for those seeking a more comprehensive experience.
The time to complete the Diploma varies depending on each student’s pace and learning style. Some students complete the program in a few years, while others take more time to accommodate other commitments. The Faculty offers flexible study schedules, allowing you to progress through each module at a pace that suits you, with up to 9 months to complete most modules via Distance Learning.

Our courses are designed with one aim in mind – to provide you with a thorough and comprehensive astrological education. There is no pressure on you to take any of the examinations. Whether or not you intend to take the examinations with a view to becoming a professional astrologer, our nine modules provide a structured and comprehensive astrological education.
