The Shadow is one of the most popular concepts of Jungian Psychology. Treated both as what is unconscious in us as well as what is evil, it can become quite a confusing concept. According to Jung, a person must have a shadow to be complete. In this webinar, we will learn to study charts with the idea that the psyche is divided between conscious and unconscious. We will explore our work as astrologers as detectives of light and dark, trying to distinguish which parts of the chart might become components of the shadow, how to address them and work with them.

In psychoanalytic circles, it is a common practice for the therapist to reflect on how the client makes them feel. It is believed that part of the unconscious content of the client’s psyche is placed upon the therapist. Though traditional techniques in psychoanalysis suggest that this can only happen when sessions are held in a constant manner for a prolonged period of time, I believe that this phenomenon can also emerge during a one-time astrological consultation. I also believe that when it happens, more possibilities of self-awareness and self-understanding for the client may be at hand. In this webinar, we will examine the concepts of transference and counter-transference in relation to astrological charts and astrological consultations so that you can become aware of these processes and incorporate them as part of your skills as an astrologer.
