Studying Astrology in Online Classes
Studying with us via our online classes allows you to connect in real time to experienced Faculty tutors and to a small group of fellow students, whilst still giving you the freedom to study from home. The online classroom is a great way to connect, learn the art of astrology, and make friends with other students from around the world!
This new online platform is offered alongside our Distance Learning via Email and London Classes, offering you even more flexibility and choice in your studies with us.
In addition to the weekly online classes, you will have access to extensive written course material which accompanies and supports each module. This material can be downloaded from our private online site.
The course tutors will give instructions each week for reading from this course material, along with small amounts of home study to do in preparation for the following week’s class. You should allow about 2 hours per week to complete this, in your own time. Engaging with the course material is also a useful way of consolidating your learning and perfect for catching up if you have to miss a class.
Upon enrolment, you will be supplied with a recommended reading list, with ideas for books to buy and online resources to access. There is only one compulsory text for you to buy at Foundation Level, Raphael’s Ephemeris for one particular year, but you may also wish to supplement your learning with a little additional reading each week, if you have time.

Joining an Online Class
The online classes schedule is given below, with links for enrolment conveniently under the set dates.
Students enrolled in Module 1 will be given priority booking status for Modules 2 and 3 in order to maintain continuity of study. Another option to secure your place for Modules 2 and 3 is to purchase the Complete Online Foundation Course when enrolling – a savings of £65 over the three terms. You’ll see that option when you click to book Module 1. Likewise, students who enrol on Module 4 will be given priority booking status for Modules 5 and 6, in order to maintain continuity of study.
Prior to joining the online classes for the first time, you are expected to attend the Induction Session. Here you will meet your course tutors and fellow students and learn how to participate using the online platform. Even if you have taken online classes with us already and are joining us for the Diploma, it is helpful for you to attend the Induction Session to meet your tutors and fellow students.
Please make sure you access the online classroom about 15 minutes before the start time, as each session will begin promptly.
A Note About Class Times
Class times are in Local Time – either Zone Standard Time or Daylight Saving Time, whichever is in operation. The start time of your class may therefore shift by one hour if the switch from GMT or Pacific Standard Time does not coincide with your region’s change from Standard Time to Daylight Time. If you have any queries, contact the Online Classes Manager (see below) or check with your tutors.
Technical Specifications
The Faculty of Astrological Studies uses Zoom as the platform for online classes. You can join the class using a desktop or laptop computer (PC or Mac) or a tablet. You will need to have good internet access, a webcam and a microphone.
When you first enrol, you will be sent an email confirming your enrolment which will contain instructions for connecting to and navigating the online classroom. Important Points
- In order to gain module credits towards the Certificate or Diploma, you must attend a minimum of 75% of all sessions in the module.
- The codes FC-1, FC-2, FC-3, etc. are for internal use to help identify different classes of the Foundation Course running concurrently. Diploma Level courses have been tagged Dip1-1, Dip1-2, etc. These codes do not imply a sequence of classes.
Fees
Foundation Level (Modules 1, 2, 3)
£380 each module. Save £65 by purchasing the Complete Foundation Course. Student Registration Fee of £35, payable when you first enrol with the Faculty.
Diploma Level I (Modules 4, 5, 6)
£415 each module
Diploma Level II (Modules 7, 8, 9)
£415 each module
Studying the modules in their regular sequence and engaging in only one module at a time best supports and enables your astrological development. For this reason, students may not enrol on more than one module per term.

Priority Booking
If you are enrolled on a course during Summer 2024, you are guaranteed a place on the next module of the same level, provided you enrol by 7th July 2024 using the password provided by your current tutor(s). Any remaining place will be open for general booking on 15th July 2024.
Modules 1, 4 and 7 do not require passwords. They are open for general booking now.
For earning credits towards the Certificate and Diploma, along with fulfilling the minimum attendance requirement, students must submit a final assignment. This homework is typically due 2 weeks after the final session of the module. Your tutor will confirm details near the start of your module.

Have you had some practice with friends and family or acquaintances? Do you feel confident of your natal chart work and forecasting? Do you have a good grasp of synastry? It takes time to fully absorb the teaching and gain enough practice to feel confident of taking on a full 90-minute session with someone who is unknown to you, which is the core work of this Module.
Module 9 marks a transition from student to potentially a fully qualified astrologer and naturally most people will go through a personal process as the Module progresses. We will work in a small group and aim to create a ‘safe’ place in which that processing and all the client work can occur. Hence, it is a prerequisite of the course that students find a client of their own and work on preparing for, delivering and reporting back on the session within the timescale given in the Module.
Students will be asked to leave the group if they do not find a client or ignore the timescales and they may be asked to leave if they miss more than 75% of the sessions. In these cases students will not be eligible for a refund.
You should have completed all previous modules before registering for Module 9.
